HarmonyHouse Newfoundlands - Newfoundland Dog Breeder
A well-groomed newf (Miles)
Here is freshly groomed Fey next to all the hair that was combed out. Several times a year the dogs "blow coat". If they aren't combed enough, the hair will come out in tufts and blow around your floors.
Your newf will be happier and healthier if he is kept brushed and trimmed. Mats in the coat can tug uncomfortably on the skin and "hot spots" are more likely to form on a matted dog.
Trimming around the ears allows for greater air circulation and fewer infections..
